Following a music degree at Exeter University, Stuart has had many years’ experience in school class music and instrumental and vocal teaching, while also training and conducting ensembles. In recent years Stuart has focused on the role of Musical Director, currently directing five choirs across Surrey, Sussex and London, alongside instrumental groups and orchestras.
He has undertaken Choral Conducting studies on an extensive range of short courses & masterclasses with, among others, Peter Broadbent (Joyful Company of Singers), Neil Ferris (BBC Symphony Chorus) and Voces8.
Stuart is also a keen saxophonist and has played with groups such as Brighton-based Southern Winds, in performances of wind chamber music across a wide repertoire from Walton to Stravinsky, Bernstein & Villa Lobos.
